“ Awesome spot in the Virginia Highlands area! Dive-bar feel, but friendly service and good food. We came here on a recommendation for good wings-- the criteria is crispy, fresh, well seasoned, and with real blue cheese. Moes and Joe's ticked all of the boxes. The wings were huge, crispy, flavorful, and the blue cheese was great. I only wish they had more sauce flavors! We had hot and lemon pepper, both were great and up to standard. Wings pro tip, order them extra crispy. We also had the cheese curds and mojos fries, everything was unhealthy and delicious. Can't forget a PBR of you're here. We look forward to returning to this location, it definitely scratched the itch for good wings. ”

“ Overall this was a good food place. The cheese curds the wings were really good. I have mixed feelings in the environment. It is definitely a bar, so the bathroom are interesting to say the least. Some people would prefer the environment but if you are an uptight person then it's not for you. ”

“ Best Bar in the Area - Oh That Pabst Blue Ribbon on Tap! Not sure you can find a better bar than this anywhere. I have been many times in the past, but not for quite some time prior to a recent visit. I have always loved the place and am happy to report that it was better than ever! Food was great and so were the beers. Don't expect a fancy dinner menu or some specialty cocktail... just spot on service, fantastic bar type food and a nice selection of beer. They have added liquor drinks, but PBR is definitely the headliner at this age old establishment and I recommend sticking with the classic. It is sad that Horace is no longer around to serve the patrons as he did for 50+ years. I am confident, however, that he would be pleased with today's version of Moe's & Joe's. “ Moes and Joes was my instant second home after suffering through my first hangover in Atlanta, after moving here in 2021. Zack, Cody, and Sosa came to the rescue without hesitation. From a wide variety of greasy grub, to an electric dive bar ambiance filled with sports fans and young professionals... Moes and Joes is a staple in the Virginia highlands. This isn't your typical bar, this is an institution . Reasonably priced food to affordable alcohol, to the friendliest staff around, Moes and joes does it all. ”

“ So if there were ever a dive bar, this would be it. Its dark and not upscale but if you are going for a beer and some bar food, this would be the place. I sat at the bar after parking on the street (got a good spot right in front of the door) and waited for the bartender to get to me. It took her a minute because she kept talking to other patrons, not like small talk, like full conversations. I was thinking "so you saw a new customer, and you are not going to break away to see if I want to order? That's not good customer service". Eventually she came over and I was able to place my order. The wings were decent (lemon pepper), the fries and the fried cheese was really good though. The wings were okay but I felt like some of them could have been cooked a little longer. Maybe it was an off day in the fryer so I won't pitch a fit about that because it can happen to anyone at any time. But the flavor was good and pretty well seasoned. The prices were really good so you will get some good bang for your buck if you go. If I was in the area I would probably stop by, but I may not go out of my way for it even though it wasn't terrible at all. ”

But we're just boozing today. The Tavern is PBR-themed so of course, I had a PBR. It's the beer of champions! The men's room is... well, don't touch anything. I'm told the ladies room is much nicer.
